This gamer might be one of the coolest sports fan I have ever seen. I do the exact same thing while watching a game on TV. I shout out at the screen: "LT + Y" (L1 + Triangle for Playstation users), usually followed by "Aaaah, idiot!", when I see someone rushing past defenders.
I used to do the same exact thing, but in math class back in school. Controlling your teacher from the back row was awesome back then.
hahah not something I'd do but that might actually help a boring class move faster
